New Life Ceremony

Celebrating a child

Marking a new arrival with your whānau and friends, acknowledges the gift that a new life brings. A “Naming” or “Welcoming” ceremony is a special way to celebrate your child with those who love them.

Welcome.

I had a long journey to become a parent, supported by my family and friends. Thea was born in the middle of our country’s first lockdown for the Covid pandemic. We had many reasons to welcome her into our circle and share love on her first birthday. We chose to celebrate at a favourite beach with close friends and family, acknowledging their special roles. Each guest gifted a few words and a stone; a simple gesture to connect with nature, and everyone loved it -especially Thea.

  • Dream it.

You can make it anything you wish, whenever and however, even at any age, I say!

Honouring the cycles of life, I invite you to create your own celebration and deliver it yourself. I can help you craft the ceremony and lead if you wish.
