Wedding Process

  • Collaborate.

We co-create a ceremony that reflects you and what you care about. First, let’s meet and chat over a cuppa or wine. You may be at the beginning or already have plans and ideas. No obligations. Afterwards, you can confirm if you’d like to work with me.

You settle into planning and I’m available to answer questions. Three months before your wedding, I’ll check in and organise our planning meeting–to find out what’s decided and start building the ceremony together.

  • Creating.

We’ll discuss the look and feel of the ceremony, what to include or exclude. Beforehand, I send you some optional questions. The ceremony tells the story of your relationship and your commitment on this journey together. Like a story, there’s a beginning, middle and end, the essence of you as a couple in every part.

From this meeting, I’ll write a script which you make changes and approve. We meet and rewrite as much as needed–until it feels right. I can assist with your vows and other elements like readings as well.

  • The Wedding.

All your plans come together with the odd curve ball, which we embrace. You apply for and receive your marriage license (see information below).

The week before, we’ll agree on the final ceremony script. I recommend a rehearsal at the venue with the key people involved, often the day beforehand. Helping everyone understand their roles and time to make adjustments. It can ease the nerves and begin the fun too!

On the day, I’m early to check the setup and have all the documents. We have a kick-arse ceremony and you celebrate the best way – your way!

  • Marriage Legal Guide

The ceremony is whatever you want to create, with some legal requirements.

You’re best to apply for a marriage licence three months before your wedding. You need to name your registered celebrant and venue.

Within the ceremony there are a few requirements, which I’ll guide you through.

After the wedding, the celebrant sends the signed paperwork and then you apply for the Marriage Certificate.
